I’ve been working in the background on this project for so long that I’m feeling almost too excited some days now that I can fully focus my attention just on this.
As a passionate person, this shouldn’t surprise me, but actually I’m a bit taken aback by how excited I am about this blog and our future training facility. It’s just about all I can think of most days.
That is why I have had to write an important pitching mantra up on my wall to make sure that I can reflect on it regularly and protect my sanity throughout this process.
Slow is Smooth and Smooth is Fast.
My husband says this on repeat to anyone he is teaching to pitch for the first time. And regularly reminds our boys when they get into their heads and start rushing their mechanics.
It’s easy thing to think, if I can just go faster, then things will get done faster.
But just like with pitching mechanics, building out this big beautiful blog is not going to benefit by being rushed. On the contrary, quality will come with intention and thoughtful movements.
Two Years of Preparation
For the past 2 years, we have been dreaming about how we could make a bigger impact on the baseball community as a whole. During that time, I have done TONS of research. I have a more than 100-page document with more than 35,000 words written in it (that’s a mini-novel right?). All of the research cataloged, hyperlinked, organized and ready to use when we were ready.
For the past 6 months, I could feel things getting closer. I have been ready to start writing these pieces for so long. Looking back, I wish I had done a little more of this formal writing earlier, but honestly, it’s flowing out quickly right now, and I’m not going to be sad about that. I’m exactly where I am meant to be. I know it in my heart.
Holding back on starting felt like torture though. The refrain “I’m ready to run and you’re making me crawl” from Incubus’s Thieves played on repeat in my head. I was in a constant state of ready to go without a place to go.
As the website gets framed out and put together and as the Etsy store has continued to be built out, I can finally see things are all starting to come together.
The countless hours of research, reaching out to knowledgeable resources, dreaming, and planning, are all culminating in the launch of this blog. It’s spring 2026, and I don’t want to forget just how amazing it feels to be closer every day.
If you’ve just stumbled upon this blog, I hope you’ll stick around. We have so much more coming to support: coaches at every level, parents who want to help their players, and players who want to get better every day. If you’re on a self-improvement journey and also love baseball, welcome in. We’re so glad you’re here.
Today, as I continue to allow myself to get into flow state and integrate my experience as a coach, leader, educator, parent, and ball player myself, I continue to remind myself that slow is smooth and smooth is fast. That is how I will bring quality to this blog. No AI slop to be found here folks.
Until next time, stay intentional,
